There are just some things that I just can't overcome
No matter how many times I tried, they won't go away
Every time they start to fade, they come back doubly vibrant,
Somehow, doubly conscious, doubly present.

Like Light Penetrating the Water
I've been drowning for so long
Since you left my life,
Oh, you've been such a part of my life,
I don't think I ever recovered from you.
I didn't hesitate in saying that I loved you,
And I still don't hesitate now.
There were dark words that I said
Which I meant at full force then,
That I wish I could take back now.
Then and now,
Some things have changed,
Some things remain the same,
So it's no wonder
That I felt such an uncanniness
When I finally saw you again.
I didn't think much of it at first
But the hard punch to my heart did
I looked at you with a questioning look
My instincts telling me to try to figure it out,
Talk about fate, for on this day,
It would have been a year since I first met you.
I still think of you often,
But I'm afraid to think too deeply
For I fear the stirring up of the sea floor,
Fogging up the water that I worked so hard to settle.
The coldness of the water made me numb,
But I still remember too much to forget,
And perhaps you still think me heartless,
But you are you to me, all along.

Residue
I cannot deny that I loved you once
You thought me the worst person and I believed it, still,
Because they were your words
I cannot deny that I love you still
But I am constantly reminded of those days
And I am overwhelmed by questions and regret
I cannot deny that some things remain always
The darker days gone, but these are the same tears,
My heart still spinning in the same spot
I cannot deny that I want to forget
But I still remember nonetheless
So you are a shadow I have to live with
You are a feeling that I live with.

Addicted
I'm stumbling towards a light in the fog
The fog seeps into my brain
The ship crashed into port
I lay among the wreckage
Smiling slightly at my fortune
As blood trickle down my face
I wiped it off and used it to draw
Your name and mine in the wet sand
A map that would lead me to your heart
And just when I thought everything was fine
I tripped and fell into a grave fit for me
And I lie there on the cool ground
Sinking, thinking, and dreaming
And I crawled slowly out of the hole
Towards your light and you open your arms,
A welcoming embrace, the right place
And when I got to you,
A familiar click, and darkness descends
And again, cyclically, I find myself restrained
And I struggled to find you,
And I just can't stay away,
I can't bear to stay away.
Hmm, I don't know why I keep using the drug analogy. Lol.

I, Toi
I will always remember our first gaze
It wasn't by chance that we happen to
Look upon each other, our sights embrace,
Yet not knowing how our bond will ensue
We sat there still, across from each other
Silences fill the chasm between us
Thinking spoken speech is a great bother,
When it feels like the morning of Christmas
There's something familiar about you
Like you have walked the paths of my memories
Like a painting I've forgotten was there
You are a bright star that I never knew
A picture of love and all its glories
Will 't please you to remain with me, here?
My tribute to Petrarch, whose sonnets I have slighted.
Though my words are not magnificent as his, it is my first. <3 span="span">3>

That Look In Your Eyes
There's something about your stance
When you talk to me
There's a joy intertwined with your words
That I can't quite pinpoint
You made me open my mind
And broaden my scale of horizons
I can't believe how much I love talking to you...
Is it all possible?
Is that look in your eyes,
real,
or just a mirage?
When you talk to me
There's a joy intertwined with your words
That I can't quite pinpoint
You made me open my mind
And broaden my scale of horizons
I can't believe how much I love talking to you...
Is it all possible?

Once Upon a Wish
In my dreams,
I saw your reflection in the fountain
As I swirled the water with my finger
The stars are shining upon us tonight
The night air carried a sweet perfume
We are caught up in its torrid current
You held my hand
As we walked...
We came upon a wishing well
You reached inside your pocket
And retrieved an ordinary coin
I took it
And turned it into an extraordinary wish
Closing my eyes, I heard a plop
And woke up.
I saw your reflection in the fountain
As I swirled the water with my finger
The stars are shining upon us tonight
The night air carried a sweet perfume
We are caught up in its torrid current
You held my hand
As we walked...

You reached inside your pocket
And retrieved an ordinary coin
I took it
And turned it into an extraordinary wish
Closing my eyes, I heard a plop
And woke up.

Waking Up
My hands were cold
But I did not feel them
I think I saw you
But you're just an illusion
Maybe it's time
To wake up.
But I did not feel them
I think I saw you
But you're just an illusion
Maybe it's time
To wake up.

Always On My Mind
I found you at the corner of my smile.
The twinkle in my eye.
Sneaking into my thoughts.
Secret of my heart.
The twinkle in my eye.
Sneaking into my thoughts.
Secret of my heart.

Serendipity
There was a moment
When our eyes met
I felt all fuzzy inside
But I don’t know whether
I should be content
Or to brand it as false hope
I know though
That chance has shown me
A path
However, it’s not time yet
To draw your name and mine
Inside a heart with a red pen
Over and over again
However, I will
Replay your smile
In my mind
Over and over again
When our eyes met
I felt all fuzzy inside
But I don’t know whether
I should be content
Or to brand it as false hope
I know though
That chance has shown me
A path
However, it’s not time yet
To draw your name and mine
Inside a heart with a red pen
Over and over again
However, I will
Replay your smile
In my mind
Over and over again
