It's a Snowy World!

This year's first winter holidays doodle! Originally, the doodle was only going to be of a snowball fight with the homies, but then the night before I started, I was like, "SNOWGLOBE!"
Added some snowflakes as if the globe had been shaken. I wanted to add the whole reflection on the glass, or a glare of sorts, you know, to make it a more realistic looking snowglobe, but I sort of got tired of working on this... I got too anal-retentive about the details and it just kept dragging on and on... So this is the end piece.
I've discovered that I can be quite masochistic in my doodles. Because I kept thinking of ways that my koala could get hurt in it. *shifty eyes* I don't know, I thought it comical somehow... Like, originally, I wanted my koala to get frozen in an icicle (okay, not frozen, stabbed with), but then I was thinking that it shouldn't be so morbid because it's the holiday season. *shifty eyes* Anywayyyy, I also thought up of many things I could be doing so I ended up drawing myself several times in it. One getting hit in the back of the head with a snowball (1 Jay), two, acting as the torso snowball to the snowman (2 Jay), three, getting caught up in a rolling snowball (3 Jay)... andddd, to complete the sequence, a blue jay on the tree. Heh heh. And yes Hungry and tjoe, Jay is getting ROLLED. -__- lol Okay, maybe I should describe the other scenes in the snowglobe: Squid Lips, Govna, Rogue, and Dizzy (p.s. Dizzeh has a snowball cannon thingy...) are having a snowball fight in the front. I'm sleeping in the snowman (somehow). Nick and tjoe are in the background (heh, not gaaaayyyyyy at all, lol), sledding, perhaps even chasing the giant snowball that has Jay in it.
I had a hard time deciding what to draw for the stand. At first, I wanted to maybe do carvings on it... then I thought maybe flowers... I don't know. Then one night before sleeping, I thought of doing a semi-tree! So then I asked the guys what kind of decoration they'd like... I didn't manage to ask Govna, so he ended up getting a decoration of Renekton's ult icon. Squid Lips' is a symbol from his favourite anime. Dizzeh, of course, wanted something super complicated, lol, (mind you, all these were less than 1cm in size on the paper), a shield with the House of Stark on it with lightsabers criss-crossing in the back. Rogue wanted one of the demoticon! tjoe wanted one of a teddy bear in a Santa suit, but I also drew the pair of doves that he mentioned and of course, Hungry. I wanted Onion and then I added Squirt because he's adorable. Andddd Nick wanted one of those impossible shapes. The bottom one is the one I screwed up. Well I didn't screw up, it turned out well so I kept it, but the one more to the right is the one that is the actual shape, lol. And Rex makes a cameo! There are other filler decorations, and I would've added more but Rogue warned me of overdecorating. *shifty eyes* And of course, I had to have my Snow Patrol snowflake. :)

Butterfly In Water

Alternate title: The Weight of Water. A line from my favourite song. I guess for this one, I just wanted to try something new. I originally wanted the ink in the water to spread into the form of a butterfly, but I couldn't make it look natural. So there's that. Using a pencil to draw ink... in water...

My Gary Lightbody fever is back (has it ever gone away?!). Endless giggles. This is a snapshot of us in the video. I crappily photoshopped a guy that was between us (standing next to the door) out. *shifty eyes*

These Autumn Days...

I forgot to post this. This is an unripened persimmon from the tree in my backyard! -Almost- kept it as a pet. *shifty eyes*
I love games like this! Hard-earned victories are the most satisfactory. And as Dizzeh mentioned in the chat, look at the kills/deaths score. o_o Oh oh and I have the least deaths and most assists. *wink, nudge nudge* Eh eh? :P
So. I finally made a "Rogue" playlist. Oh and I added Set the Fire to the Third Bar to the list too, because that's Rogue's favourite Snow Patrol song... that's when I knew that I had done something right in life... loool. ONE DAY EVERYONE SHALL BE LOVERS OF SNOW PATROL, BUT GARY LIGHTBODY BELONGS TO ME!... Anywhoo, thanks Rogue for your very good moosic! (Also, a Jay Chou song playing ftw. I haven't listened to Chinese songs in a long while. It was nice.)
My mom and I have been in a biscotti-making fever. This is the third batch we've made. :O I think from afar, this picture looks like the underside of a starfish, lol.

Une jeune fille

"Il  y a une jeune fille, qui habite dans mon coeur

C’est un lieu où la lumière ne pénètre plus

Et elle veut la liberté

… elle attend encore."

Happy Halloween!

Colourless.
Coloured! Tjoe is a vampire, Nick is kitty cat, I am a witch, Rogue is a pirate, Squidy is a ghost, Dizzeh is Frankenstein, and introducing Dan, a quokka, as a pumpkin. :) I didn't really assign anyone with a particular costume. I just brainstormed a bunch of common costumes and just imagine each of us in one. And voila! Oh and I made the colours extremely muted... just because. Lol.
First game on Halloween, each of us with skins that we gifted with each other. :) We. Look. Amazing. Oh and we won!
In other news, I finally got a pentakill, lol! Yes, it's bots, but YES.
I'm a mime this Halloween because I'm lazy. And of course it calls for some camwh*ring. :P Because I haven't been this made up in a long while, lol.
Much love to everyone!

The Dust Specks in Sunlight

The morning sun peeks through the blinds, wanting in,
I reach my hands up and dance with swirling specks of dust,
Mindlessly, like a headless animal cracker,
Wandering and wondering, a roundabout,
I want to speak but there's a glass shard in my mouth,
And these words find no exit out;
These thoughts fade like fabric in years of sun,
Gossamer dreams that are never within reach...
The morning sun peeks through the blinds, wanting in.

A Creature of the Mind

I'm not sure if I am allowed to post this for all to see, but what the heck. I drew it, lol. This, is an Arcturus. It's a creature that I thought up, so I guess it's original in that sense. Its composition, not so much so, since it is made up of a bunny's head, a cat's eye shape, a dog's body, a koala's limbs, and a dragon's wings. I wanted his name to be something meaningful too. So I looked up the brightest stars in the sky. The brightest star in the sky, not counting the sun, is Sirius. Although it's a good name, it's... known. I wanted something a little more obscure I guess. Arcturus, is the fourth brightest star in the sky and has multiple connotations in different cultures/religions. Perfect.
Sorry for the lack of posts recently. I just didn't have anything eventful to write or post about. I have a lot of drafts I still have to finish, but have been feeling uninspired. Soon.jpg

Rogue's Pie...

...is outta this world!!! Aww yiss!
This. Is. Us. :3
YES! They've finally brought out some ward skins! *large shiny eyes*

Happy Birthday to My Dad!

The rabbit was the first thing that I ever drew on my tablet. :3 It's only fitting that I turn it into something for my dad. Yay!

Onion!

Onion makes me cry sometimes, but I love Onion!
So you may be wondering, where the heck did I get the idea of doodling a pet onion?!
Well, here's what happened...

The other day, my parents bought this huge bag of onions. Because we use onions a lot. And onion is good for you. But it also came with a bunch of fruit flies, ugh. So we took it to the backyard and started sorting through them, you know, to make sure there weren't any bad ones. We also peeled the outer layer of some that were looking really beaten up. Then, my brother chanced upon this perfect, cute, little onion and showed it to me. My dad was like, "You can keep it under your bed as a pet!" My expression was this: -__-

But then my brother was like, "You should draw us a pet onion."
And so I did. :3

By the Gods... It has HAPPENED!

Ever since that art piece that I had done for the LoL contest, I've been wanting to delve into the world of digital art. At the time, although I had coloured my traditional piece digitally (and with a mouse, might I add), I guess it just wasn't good enough. Now with the right tools and equipment, I was very excited to get started.

Now, I'll admit that it was kind of hard to get used to. The thing with drawing on paper is that, well, it just happens, right there on paper, as you draw it. Digitally though, each stroke is like an out-of-the-body experience because it's delayed, yet at the same time, not. It definitely takes a lot more effort into making each line precisely the way you want it. And even though erasing mistakes don't leave creases in the paper or residual marks, erasing things digitally (as clean as it may be) can be meticulous. One pixel makes all the difference!

Anyway, onto the piece itself. This is the first day I really dabbled with my tablet (a Wacom Bamboo... my parents said I can get an upgrade if I get better with all this). I had drawn a *secret* first, but because I can't post that just yet, I figured I'll put that on pause and doodle this! Hmm, I don't really know how long this took me, but I realized that I do not like drawing in photoshop -- I'll only use it for colouring. I drew all this in ArtRage Studios. It was really fun! And tiring on the eyes though, because after staring at it for so long, I developed this rather nasty glare when I looked at my screen. *shifty eyes*

The hardest part of this was I guess getting the lines just right. I have no idea how much times I ctrl+Z-ed, but those two buttons were well-loved today. That and I couldn't decide on how to position the beret. I think it's nicely balanced when I position it right on top of the head. But I also like the quirkiness with having it slanted... Anyway, you know which one I picked, but that isn't to say that I didn't have 10 layers of different beret-positionings in that file.

As much as I enjoyed this, I don't think I'll ever stop doodling on paper though. There's something raw with drawing on paper, something pure. I like looking at the pattern of the fibre of the paper as I run my pencil over it... Oh and I also have to credit Jazza for his tutorial video on his colouring and shading technique which I found fascinating (and used).  I would like to learn to paint backgrounds... Soon.jpg, lol! So... that's about all I have to say about the experience, I think. Expect more digital art to come! :)

Steampunked!

All I knew is that I wanted to draw something steampunk-y. I didn't really have any idea other than that. This doodle started on August the 17th, lol. I guess I wanted to convey the idea that beneath the fluffy exterior, we're all just machines underneath (that's why the cogs and gears are showing through). Positioning of each of the critters proved to be difficult too. At first I was thinking of a tea party (I am the reference point in this doodle)... But then the angle was off. So why not just go crazy.

The bunny in this doodle doesn't represent anyone really. I was just reminded of the bunny that I would see on most of my walks and figured why not. It's so cute. :3

There are so many oopsies in this doodle. As always, it's not straight, lol. Second, because I free-hand all my drawings, one of the cogs is imperfect, lol, and that's why I covered it with the curved metal thinger at the top. And third, the angle of the table... yeah. lol Oh and Dizzy is accompanied by a cupcake because there was too much room on the swing and I didn't know what else to draw.

I originally thought of a story to go with this doodle, but I have since forgotten what to write.

I think it went something like this:

I often walk by this large window. I would look in and see myself.

*shifty eyes* Mmmhm.

I swear I'm not crazy!

So after Patch 3.11 came out, I noticed that the champions had a more prominent, black outline. No one else seemed to have noticed and when I pointed it out, it was met with a silent "you're-cray-cray" response. ;__; But see! Okay, let's not look at the fact that I take random screenshots in game or that I actually put time into this to prove a point or that "BEFORE" is off centre in the picture AND of a different font to "AFTER" (oh gawd, OCD is kicking in)... BUT SEE! (Tempted to change but see to but um, lol. :P) LOOK! THE OUTLINE!!! It makes them look crisper!... *sniffles* I like to zoom-in in-game (and that children, is the use of the epizeuxis... at first I kept thinking that it's an antanaclasis... or it can be a diacope... which are all the nuanced uses of the rhetorical device of repetition... I digress. And yes that's what I learned in university... *shifty eyes*) especially when I wait for minions to spawn and whatnot...
I love you, Lulu. :) You'll always be my main. (This is, btw, taken after the 3.11 patch... LOOK! And boy, do I feel like Tim the Enchanter when I say, "LOOK!" lol. It reminds me of the Rabbit of Caerbannog scene.) So, the reason why I took those "before" screenshots in the first place was because I was going to do a post showing my appreciation for Lulu and... it's too late to explain myself, isn't it?...
In other news, a while back when Fiora was one of the free champions in the rotation, I endeavored to solo Baron. Huehuehue, I did it!
...Didn't go so well with Teemo.
:)

The Weight of Water

Storm after storm
The water piles up
A weight I struggle-
I cannot hold.
It is an ocean,
It is a hole overflowing,
It is us undone,
And I am drowning.

Spear of Destiny!

I had forgotten that you can eat dog food for health!
Da first boss beat. Woohoo!
Time to fight the Angel of Death!!! :O
I win!
So, apart from Doom, I had this vague inkling that I had played this game before when I was a young'un. And I did! So glad I got it during the steam id sale. *beams* It was really fun to re-play. :) The old-school graphics and gameplay were really nostalgic, almost brought a tear to my eye. *sniffles* Good stuff.

The Thin Line

My heart is a book with a worn bind
Each crease and line signify
Every time you open it roughly and wide.
So careless and cruel,
Claiming you have better understanding
Than you actually do,
Of the words not written by you.
I am on the page you've bookmarked,
The page, tattered and waterstained,
When confronted, you apologize
With a smile, for knocking over the glass
But what else can I say except "It's okay"?
The words bleed and melt, the ink seeps,
Pages and pages of darkness
A mark I cannot unfeel, cannot forget.
So I'm sitting here, running my finger
Over the wrinkled lines and blurred words,
I close my eyes and feel the tears well
My grip on the page tightens
The rage in my blood urges me on
The paper, in my hand, conforms,
But I don't know if I have the heart
To rip it out.

Thoughts at the Bottom of a Well

Why do we love when we know it's going to end?

Jars of Spicy Hell

So colourful, yet so terrifying. My parents bought like, 3 bags of cayenne peppers, knowing that I hate spicy things. But they're a good source of Vitamin B... or so I've been told.

So there are red and green cayenne peppers in there, garlic (SO MUCH GARLIC -- so much so that when I was peeling them, one of them hurt my thumb *sad*), vegetable oil, sesame oil. I tasted this teensy bit of garlic, and my god. Call the fire department please!

Some personal (albeit minor) achievements...

Aww yisss, beat my last top score... and my best accuracy.
Awesome foursome with our awesome skins. :D
My best normal game. :) I've developed a fondness for Nami now. Her Koi skin is super adorable.
I reached 100 wins!!! Time to quit League. lol :P Oh and also, I realized that I have a great affinity to great Shaco players. Rainbow Thugs and QmoneyakaQdollas. Hehehe.

Dancin' Fingers!

Aww yiss, beat my last top score.

My non-winning art, but I'm proud of myself anyway. *smile* Because it's the first time I've been able to blend traditional art and digital out together without it being super obvious (like with my KF one)... Yay. :D But I've got to say though, I went onto the forums and there were so many more awesome artworks that didn't even get selected for community voting... I feel worse for those people. Because honestly, their art is so much better than some of the art chosen. Imho anyway.

Mon jardin!

Roses in the backyard. This was the last one not ruined by rainwater.
Maple tree in the front yard. Never mind the grass. *shifty eyes*
Row of pear trees at the very back.
Pears! I think the trees are sick though. Look at their poor leaves!
The infamous apple tree. Couldn't find any apples though... I think it's because my mom went overboard with the pruning at too late a time in the year.
Apple in the foreground, pear in the back. Oh hey, you can see my room!
Persimmon!
Moar persimmons!
Mint.
Chives.
