My Favourite Holiday

I've been good in keeping up with tradition (though not so good at posting)... So, from where we last left off, starting with 2017! (Man, I haven't posted in forever... sorry for the ugly formatting.)

Unfortunately, the Halloweens from these couple of years (with the exception of this year) fell on work days, which meant very little photo records. 

I've always tried to get pieces that I can re-wear for my everyday attire, but 2017? 2017, I couldn't resist getting a floor-length dress in my favourite colour. :P

2017: Elizabeth Bennet (at a Japanese restaurant). It doesn't really look like Elizabeth Bennet - I just wanted an excuse to wear a pretty dress... I also haven't gotten into the world of contacts yet, so the glasses stay!

2018: Peggy Carter. Creepy work selfie. My curls fell (my hurr is never very good at staying put). I also really just wanted to get another red lippie (as if I don't have enough) - and the one I was wearing was actually what Hayley Atwall wore in the Captain America movie! I made the SSR pin myself using those shrinky dinks  - it was fun to make!

(Don't ask. No animals were abused.)

2019: Janet Wick (John Wick's female alter-ego). My friends and I came up with stripper names for each other (lol) and JANET is mine, so how fitting...! This was pretty fun to put together. I was especially proud of the slash I painted on my cheek - it was realistic enough that people asked me if I was okay, lol.

2020: Sigrit from Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga (I am Ygrek, her Asian cousin). I love this film, lol. Quarantine meant that shopping is hard so I re-purposed an old cardigan (that I love, but rarely wear) and just wore similar things to what Sigrit wore in the movie. I should really learn to do my hair... That was the hardest part of this "costume" (yeah, surprisingly, sewing was easier). Also pretended to have multiple ear piercings (I don't have pierced ears).

NA LCS 2017 Spring Split Finals!

I'll never forget the deafening roar that erupted in the stadium when we all felt it in all our beings, that they had won. Top 10 feelings.

April 22: Third Placement matches - Flyquest versus Phoenix 1. They had a couple of tables for you to draw signs. Never been so empty-minded (all energy used in excitement). Then took a photo with Amumu (see, I like him, he can be my friend). Casters for this series (Zirene, Kobe, and Riv)! They be my favourites (plus Jatt). And of course, the now infamous pigeon that stole the show and predicted the outcome. What prophetic bird.

April 23: Finals - TSM versus Cloud 9. I came prepared with my own sign. Thought it would be funny to put up a score of 10 for every awesome play that took place. Like how they do it in gymnastics, ha! Can't take photos without making faces.

That's the closest I'll ever come to touching the trophy... Introducing the players... and first blood by TSM! (I may have sat still in my seat, but all my insides were dancing crazily, happily.)

Kobe! *heart* And then... TSM WON! It was such an intense series. The first two games were won so decisively by TSM that we all thought it was going to be a sweep. But nah, TSM decided to give our money's worth for the tickets and lost two games. Last game. Super. Nail. Biting. It was so damn close... but TSM took the opportunity and ran with it and the stadium, the energy in the stadium could power an entire city! That unity, that happiness, that relief, all wrapped into one. It's so overwhelming, I was overflowing with all these colours of emotions that I still cannot describe.

All in all, it was a wondrous experience. I love it for the excitement, for the involvement, for sharing the want of a victory with the players. It definitely uplifted something in me. 10/10, would definitely go again.

The Hallows MMXVI

This year for Halloween, after weighing the options, I decided to be Kiki from Studio Ghibli's Kiki's Delivery Service. I decided to hand make her hair bow and her cat, Jiji. The hair bow was made from a plain headband I had, a cut-up red t-shirt and cotton balls, for the poof. I can't sew for shit, so everything was done with fabric glue, yay! And Jiji was made from leftover felt that I had when I made Kenny from South Park. It was fun! I'm happy with how both turned out.

So I got really bored yesterday and decided to make anime/manga versions of myself. They look nothing like me, haha, but it was pretty fun. I think that's one of the things about these character generators -- they're too general. Still pretty hilarious though. ^_^
