The False Friend

All those maddening and rabid cells
Are rapidly multiplying, as it spreads
From the site of infection,
The chunk of my life you bit off.
When I looked back on the times
All those seemingly sunny rainy days
I was deceived by my own happiness
Which was not a difficult trick.
As a transparent red screen
Descends before my eyes,
I see with fitful passion
The lifeless you before me, so clearly.
I was blinded by my naivety
To have placed trust in you,
You, a parasite, the most lowly kind,
Feeding on the host until it dies.
And despite my transformation,
Caused by your dirty hands
I will not lose my humanity
Which is permanently absent in you,
I don't want to waste more of my life on you
As I turn my back and walk away,
Letting distance dissociate our link.

The Difference

It's strange how we are all composed
Of the same ingredients, of flesh,
Of blood, of bones, in varying amounts.
But we are such different creatures,
The same tree but different branches,
Growing here and there, reaching.
But you took the crooked path.
So by subtracting all the limbs,
And hair, and nails, and skeleton,
You can see, my dear sister,
What makes you and I different,
Is that whilst I give life,
You bring about darkness,
The unnecessary kind.
And that while I have a heart,
You don't. And that makes you sad,
The almost-pitying kind.
So while we are all human,
I am nothing like you (made me to be),
And never will be.
So go ahead and wrap me in your darkness,
Because I'm unafraid,
And in it, my light will shine brighter.

You can make me feel low, you can degrade me.
But none of that matters, because I know that I will always be a better person than you.

Masks, Masks On Everyone

I don't understand you.
You're not the person I thought you were.
There's a darkness to you,
That I never saw before.
How can I trust again?

How is it that
People can say one thing,
But do another?
I'll never understand.
Sure hypocrisy is human nature...
But you have it to the extreme.

Let that be a lesson to me.

The Good

The honourable
The moral
The chivalric
The honest
The compassionate
The kind

Will always win.
