Heartbeat Monitor

"Thump-thump, thump-thump" calls my jolt'd heart
When our hands accidentally touch
You smile at me, but we're still souls apart
And I wonder if you ever feel as such

You play my heart like a metronome
From slow to 64/64
In your gaze I belong, I feel like I'm home
Now I'm hoping it's you opening that door

On my obeying heart I placed your hand
Stethoscopes are not need'd to hear its rhythm
You felt it pumping fast on your command
An obvious signal you need not fathom

"Thump-thump" sings happily, my fulfill'd heart
Our love is now a work of tender art.
